New York is calling, and we have answered. This September NYC plays host to many incredible audiences, from the US Open of Tennis, Fashion Week, gallery season and the hottest event of all - Long Island’s Quik Pro ASP surf competition. As the ocean swell keeps us on edge for the first coming weeks of September, Nouvelle Vague will be preparing an incredible event, hosted by the New York chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. The silent auction & fundraiser at The Bowery Hotel will be brought to life by an eclectic crowd of artists, surfers, creatives, and beyond and could not happen without our partners at SMASH and Outside Magazine!

As the new decade dawned, out of the west came a new wave:
Nouvelle Vague is live. Born on the cusp of the unexpected moment, our
collective is quintessentially, Californian. Over our first year we have
graduated from surf action lifestyle, to a full on embrace of elegance, youth,
the abstract and the beautiful, through illustration, directorial vision and our
mainstay the photograph.
The roots of this collective stretch far and wide, as the flux
of work opportunities continue to bring our artists to the exotic and far
reaches of the globe. NV stands for creating unique relationships, and our
artists have naturally come to embrace the opportunity to surf, shoot and play,
from ocean to ocean.
As a small agency, we resist the confines of style and stature
and status. NV artists embody a humble ‘je ne sais quoi’ spirit through their
work, a raw style which is the thread that keeps us thriving, as a tightly knit
collective. Our photographer’s exhibit a range of provocative action, from surf
to snow, kinky reportage, classic portraiture with a pop culture flare, to
impeccable images of delectable edibles.
2011 has brought in a sweet amalgamation of the nouvelle soul.
This fall we aim to awaken the virtues of this collective’s future with the
exhibition of some of our artists finest work.
